Alternative country-rock group the Doubtful Guest first came to the attention of the Bath, England, music scene when they won both ~the Moles Battle of the Bands and ~Porter CellarBar Battle of the Musos in 2004. The trio, composed of Andy Hill (vocals, guitar, harmonica, piano), Matt Prescott (bass), and Ed Jukes (drums), went on to perform at a number of festivals, including ~Glastonbury and ~the Secret Garden Festival in 2005. They also opened for Kimya Dawson, Patricia Vonne, and Josh Ritter. Volume Two, the Doubtful Guest's self-released debut album, was released in 2006 and followed by Salvation in 2007.
